The Kathy Wooler Speech Pathology team come from different backgrounds, but all share a passion for language, speaking well, and creating a bright future.

Kathy Wooler

Education: Bachelor of Speech Therapy, University of Queensland.

Specialty: Adult and child voice disorders, learning difficulties

Kathy Wooler started her career by establishing the speech therapy department of Community Health in Rockhampton (now Child and Family Health) in 1977. After several years, Kathy established her own private practice in 1984.

The Kathy Wooler Speech Pathology team has since expanded, with two other speech pathologists and reception staff joining the practice.

Kathy specialises in working with clients, both adults and children, with voice disorders. She also has extended experience in working with primary and high school students, with difficulties learning in the classroom. This could include reading and spelling skills (literacy), the ability to listen to, remember and understand what the teacher has said, and the ability to write thoughts down.

Bernadette Draper

Education: Bachelor of Speech Therapy, University of Queensland.

Specialty: School age children with speech difficulties

Bernadette (or Bernie, as she’s known) has worked in both public and private speech pathology. Bernadette started out working for Queensland Health as a speech therapist in Rockhampton and Biloela, before spreading her wings to travel and work overseas. Now firmly back in Central Queensland, Bernadette has been a part of the Kathy Wooler Speech Pathology team for more than a decade. She specialises in working with young children, with a special interest in helping children with speech difficulties.
