WHY SPEECH PATHOLOGY?

Why Speech Pathology?

There are more reasons than you might immediately think of to work with a speech pathologist.

Speech pathologists help with a range of speech, literacy and language issues, both in early childhood and in adults. You don’t need a referral to see us, and there may even be rebates available for our services.

How can we help?

There’s more information about the services offered at Kathy Wooler Speech Pathology here , but here’s a short overview of how we work with children and adults.

  • Early childhood speech, language and developmental programs,
  • Early literacy and pre-literacy understanding and comprehension,
  • Early childhood stuttering and voice disorder management,
  • School-age child spoken language skills, learning and listening,
  • Reading, spelling and written language skill development, and
  • Adult voice disorders or stuttering.

As we say, speaking and reading well opens the door to your future, and we work with our clients to ensure a brighter future.

Speech Pathology or Speech Therapy?

All practicing speech pathologists (including the team at Kathy Wooler Speech Pathology) are registered with Speech Pathology Australia. Speech Pathology Australia prefers the term ‘speech pathologist’, as it emphasises our ability to clinically identify, assess and diagnose pathological conditions of communication.

Not only can a speech pathologist work with you or your child on language and speech skills, we can also help with learning, literacy, social and attention difficulties, as well as issues with swallowing.
